Los Angeles: The best destination for Family Vacation


Los Angeles is the second most populous city of the United States which was founded on 4th September 1781. The city has its own share in the history of making of the United States.

Just before the Mexican War of Independence, Los Angeles came under the authority of Mexico in the year 1821. However, the United States bought back the area of California along with Los Angeles in 1848 and on 4th April 1850, it became a municipality of United States.

Los Angeles is also nicknamed as City of Angels. The famous Hollywood and San Fernando Valley are a part of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is famous for its beautiful and culturally important landmarks. Some of the very prominent cultural hotspots of Los Angeles are Little Tokyo, Korea Town, China Town, Griffith Observatory, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Kodak Theatre, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Getty Center, Hollywood Sign, Watts Towers, Dodger Stadium, La Placita Olvera, Beverly Hills, Capitol Record Tower, Theme Building and many more.

A part of Los Angeles is hilly area which includes Mount Luken in San Fernando Valley, Santa Monica Mountain stretching from Pacific Ocean to L.A. Downtown, Baldwin Hills, and Boyle High. Other part of Los Angeles is planar area situated along the Los Angeles River.

In addition, tourists can also enjoy beautiful stretched beaches of Los Angeles. The Long Beach of L.A. is exceptionally popular for its beauty.

The Los Angeles city is situated over the Pacific Ring of Fire which makes it prone to frequent earthquakes.

Los Angeles is referred as the Creative Capital of the World and it is a major American economic center facilitating international trade, petroleum, fashion industry, entertainment industry including motion pictures, recorded music, television programs and video games, technology, aerospace, and tourism.

There are many international companies working in Los Angeles and seven of them are well placed in Fortune 500. However, Los Angeles is mostly known for its great role in American and International Motion Picture Industry.

The city hosts the Academy Award and 54 film festivals are organized in Los Angeles every year. The very prestigious and famous USC School of Cinematic Arts is situated in Los Angeles that attracts many visitors to this beautiful city.

The Walt Disney Concert Hall is also a famous cultural center that attracts many visitors.

Los Angeles is a port city and the two major ports are the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach. The Port of Los Angeles is the busiest port of the United States.

Los Angeles is considered as the major cruise ship center. In the year 2009, above 800,000 people enjoyed cruise facilities from the port of Los Angeles which consists Commodore Schuyler F. Heim Bridge, Henry Ford Bridge, Vincent Thomas Bridge and Gerald Desmond Bridge.

Los Angeles is a popular vacation destination and some of the popular tourist attraction of the city includes Zuma Beach which is famous for water sports activities, Venice Beach, Manhattan Beach, Dockweiler Beach, Renaldo Beach, and Santa Monica Beach.

Other major attractions of Los Angeles are Disney land and Disney’s California Adventure Park, Knott’s Berry farm, Universal Studios, Raging Waters, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.

The city offers something for every member of the family on a luxury tour and that is why tourism is one of the major economic sectors of Los Angeles.
