Such is Life

I saw "The Dark Knight" on Tuesday. The movie was simply amazing, be it the performances or the special effects. Everything was great, and if i had to point out the best performance it wud hav be Heath Ledger who played the 'joker' in the movie. His performance was so good tht one cudnt help but hate him by the end of the movie. The special effects were definitely one of the best tht i hav seen so far. But i m not here to talk abt the movie or the performances and the special effects! I m here to highlight a very important point thts been made in the movie. A very strong point tht was conveyed by the character of 'Joker' was tht ppl who are like him dont hav any agenda in life. They r unhappy somewhere inside and hence they cannot see ppl around them happy. So all they wanna do is spread as much as unhappiness as possible and create a sense of fear in the minds of ppl. So tht it seems as if the world has been conquered by them. This is wht the joker kept doin thruout the movie, he felt happy when he created chaos......he felt happy when he killed ppl for the heck of it!

I saw a strange kinda of similarity between him and the terrorists of today. They hav a similar agenda in life and tht is to spread fear and unhappiness! I still dunno wht wud they achieve by doin this. But this seems to be their only objective in life. Otherwise wht wud one get by blowing up two cities of India? Wht wud one get by sending warning e-mails tht Mumbai and Delhi r next on the target? Wht is the primary objective here. Do they want money? the answer is a no coz they already hav tht from various sources. Do they want power? perhaps yes but this doesnt mean any kinda post or designation here, it means a weird sense of power which they feel when they see scared faces of the ppl who hav lost their near and dear ones to their disgusting acts of terror. The only thing tht they dont want in life is peace & happiness. And tht is exactly wht the joker said at the end of the movie. He said tht he wanted to break the spirit of ppl and wanted to turn them against each other so tht no camaraderie or love is left in this world. Unfortunate but true, this wht these ppl want......but how far will they succeed is something highly questionable. Perhaps we too need a Dark Knight like the one in the movie.

Alas the trip had to come to an end. And this was all i cud capture from my sony ericsson camera in the phone. But seriously the Sony Ericsson camera is jus too gud! Cudnt hav got such pics from any ordinary camera phone. :) But all in all i had an amazingly rejuvenating weekend! And the best part was i dint even hav to worry tht come Monday and i'd hav to go to office. I had all the time to sleep and relax in the lush green valley. I wish though tht v cud see some places. The rain handicapped us completely and so v cudnt venture out at all, but v made the most of staying put in the room. ;) My cold had thankfully subsided b4 i started so it dint play spoilt sport. Wud love to hav more such weekend getaways.

Grrr...........

I can't say how irritating its been from the past three days.....It all started on Tuesday, all of a sudden in the morning i started sneezing as if there was no tomorrow! The rate was as bad as 3 sneezes in every 2 mins. I thought it was this normal bout of flu which i usually suffer from every couple of days. I somehow managed to work with a box of tissues by my side. By the time i returned home i was feelin so tired n drained out tht i cudnt do anything, i even missed the gym :-( Then i went to the doc and he gave me some silly tablets which i had with the hope tht i'll be fine by the next day. And i did feel better the next morning, but who knew tht this stupid bout of flu wud lead to fever! I realised it after half the day had passed on Wednesday. And the worst part is its still there. I hav been havin the medicines given but they dont seem to b working. The effect stays only till the first few hrs and then i start feelin feverish again!I cant even take a sick leave since i m anyways goin on leave from this weekend. And to think of it i hav a trip comin up on this Saturday....i dunno hw is it gonna b possible. But i m not gonna cancel it at any cost coz i hav been lukin forward to this trip from quite sometime. So it seems like i m gonna hav a nice sick vacation! :-/

Joie de Vivre

This is my first post from office! Yeah i used to access blogger only from home coz all the blogging sites were blocked in our office. But one day i jus typed a website and realised tht its not blocked anymore......can u believe it, i cudnt for a while. Anyways i dunno hw long is it gonna b this way, but till then i m gonna access blogger everyday. Atleast i wont be pressed for time coz i m left with no time after goin home as gym takes precedence over everything.....and i feel guilty of not being able to give my 100% to my blog. :-( Anyways i m happy now. The weekend that passed by was gud as expected. I spent a lot of time with my guy, we had a sumptuous buffet lunch at Firangi Paani which is a resto-pub at Andheri, Mumbai. And we also saw Kismat Konnection, the movie was ok not too gr8 not too bad as well. I liked Shahid's acting.....and man he can dance! He's got those moves which can make any gurl go weak in her knees. I guess Kareena's loss is Sania Mirza's gain! Not sure if Shahid is actually seeing Sania....but if he is then i m really happy for him. Coming to Vidya Balan, she's gud but wht i found strange is tht there's not a single song in the movie where she has danced with Shahid. Talk about havin two left feet! And i seriously feel she desperately needs a new dress designer, i dunno hw and why she doesnt wear clothes tht suit her. Mebbe she doesnt knw wht looks gud on her and wht doesnt! The songs r ok......my favorite is 'Bakhuda' which has been beautifully sung by Atif Aslam. He rocks! and all the ppl shud listen to this song if they havnt so far.

And now coming to the main thing tht i wanna say, this is my last week at office! :-) Dont get any kinda wrong thoughts....Its my last week coz come Saturday and i m on leave till 10th Aug '2008. Isnt tht cool!I so badly needed a break from work.....The reason for this long leave is, my organization has a rule tht each and every employee needs to madatorily take a block leave of atleast 10 days in a year. Hw cool is tht! I wish every company had such a rule. Anyways but as of now its me who's got lucky. :-P So i m going on a short trip to a hill station near Mumbai with.....ur guess is as gud as mine! ;-) And then i will be back soon coz my bro and sis-in-law are coming to India from Amsterdam on this Friday. So i will get to spend a lot of time with them. And ofcourse i will continue to go to the gym.....and i m definitely gonna write more posts and bug all of u. :-D So get ready to see a post everyday from the comin week! ;-)

Life and its Vagaries

Last week was so busy that i dint even realise when did it pass by! I was stuck with work at office and at the same time i cudnt afford to sit till late coz i dint want to miss the gym at any cost. So i used to finish my work in a jiffy by 7p.m, come back home by 7.45 p.m and hit the gym by 8p.m! Yeah i had no time to relax....In fact my poor bf has been bearing the brunt coz i hav been cribbing as to how i m not havin time to read the magazines tht i had bought 2 weeks back, and tht i have not been able to see the movie dvds i had bought a while back and also i hav not been able to update my blog! Phew for once i wish there were 30 hrs in a day! Actually tht sounds better....why on earth did god choose a day to consist of 24hrs...doesnt 30 sound better as a round figure. Anyways apart from that i hav been seeing movies non-stop in whtever time i m left with. I saw Jaane Tu.. twice last week, I saw Hancock on Sunday and i saw Aamir yesterday. I enjoyed Jaane Tu.. as much as i had the 1st time, Hancock was funny, Will Smith was amazing as usual. But the saddest movie that i saw was Aamir. I dunno how may of u hav seen it....in fact my sis-in-law and my bf dint want to recommend it coz they felt it was too realistic and sad! Inspite of tht i ended up seeing it and was left with strange thoughts in my mind. It made me wonder if there were ppl like Aamir who were forced to do such acts which they dint want to do....It made me feel tht many times circumstances give birth to terrorists....they r not born tht way! But frankly speaking how many ppl wud do what Aamir does in the movie, if they did then so many ppl wud hav been saved by now. I cudnt sleep yesterday night thinking abt this. Now thts wht u call a thinking mind. No wonder my guy says tht i think too much. Anyways thts all for now, i m too tired and sleepy to continue.... *Yawn Goodnight everybody and hav a nice week ahead!

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.....

Went to watch Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na yesterday with my guy. Seriously speaking i wasn't expecting anything from this movie coz i had no expectations from Imran Khan, and i felt that he was a bit too hyped jus bcoz he's Aamir's relative! But i m glad i dint find anything similar between the two. Imran, i wud say is like a breath of fresh air.....he's got a very boy next door kinda look, no body-shody and no oozing sex appeal. But he's really cute and he brings back a certain amount of innocence which is slowly disappearing from the industry these days coz today everybody comes with rippling muscles and acting lessons et al. What i liked about him was that he was very natural although i wont say that he was absolutely flawless. But still i liked the way he played the character of Jay Singh Rathore. Now coming to Genelia, i hav never really liked her as an actress as such....but surprisingly she's also played her character (Aditi) very effortlessly. The supporting cast is also good....anybody who has seen the movie can vouch for that....i especially liked Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah. The songs are nice and different (A.R Rahman shows his versatility once again) , my personal favories are Kabhi Kabhi Aditi (nice n peppy), Kahin To Hogi (very soulful) and Pappu Can't Dance (mindless fun). All in all a very refreshing film, i wont say that the story is very unusual or anything of that sorts, its a very simple story which revolves around a group of friends and their lives. So a very happy, cute, college romance is what i can term this movie as and it definitely puts a smile on ur face when u r leaving the cinema. :-) I am glad tht i chose this movie instead of Lovestory 2050. No comments on the latter coz i m confused...as i hav heard mixed reviews about it. So if anybody of u hav seen it do share ur thoughts on the same. And ppl who saw this movie lemme knw hw do u feel abt it?
