At My Random Best!!

I was tagged by Saim & Richa to write down any 25 random things about me. Some of u may be aware of a couple of them and some are new things that u never knew about me. So here they are:
  1. I am extremely moody. My mood swings are so unpredictable that sometimes it may remain the same throughout the day or it may also change several times in an hour!
  2. Although I am very approachable, I dont talk to people so easily. And if the vibes are not right then I would probably never talk to that person again.
  3. I had my first crush when I was 5 yrs old! And if I start counting the number of crushes that I have had so far, my bf will faint :P
  4. I try to find humor in everything, even in the worst scenarios. I think its my way of lightening up the atmosphere. :)
  5. I am very hard to please (pun intended) and I can be very demanding at times.
  6. I am proud of what I am and anybody who doesnt respect me for what I am doesnt have a place in my life.
  7. Somewhat related to point no. 6, a lot of people have told me that they found me snobbish and arrogant when they first met. However, they were all proved wrong in due course of time. Whoever said first impression is the last impression!
  8. I love to sing (which most of u know by now) and I seem to have a song for every situation.
  9. When I am upset I can be the most sarcastic person that u have ever met! My sarcasm has no bounds when I am angry.
  10. My alternate ambitions so far have been to be: an astronaut, a singer, a movie critic, a chef, an anchor in a travel show, a psychotherapist and an actress. :)
  11. I dont have a sweet tooth; I have a sweet jaw line. Despite that I have been able to control my cravings to the extent that I havent finished the Hershey chocolates that have been lying in my fridge from the past 3 weeks!!
  12. I am very touchy and sensitive, so I get very easily hurt especially if the person is close to me.
  13. I listen to music whenever I am happy, sad, angry, hurt, upset, irritatedjust about any time.
  14. I dont fall asleep so easily, it takes me a minimum of ten minutes to fall asleep after going to bed. And the most difficult thing for me is to wake up the next morning!
  15. I get thoughts of going on a long vacation at least once a week. Like I want to go on one right now! :D
  16. I dont believe in the saying Forgive and forget. I might forgive a person but I can never forget! Blame it on to my photographic memory.
  17. I hate watching horror movies but sometimes I do end up watching them owing to my curious nature which results in terrible nightmares! ;)
  18. Blogging is one of the few things that I took up on pure impulse. And I never thought that I would last for so long.
  19. I am a very good cook but I hardly cook! :P Blame it on my lazy bones. I
  20. love to learn new dance forms and exercises, like as of now I am dying to learn: Salsa, Jive, Belly Dancing, Ashtanga yoga, Tai chi and Pilates.
  21. I rate personal hygiene very high in my list of must haves and therefore I hate people who appear to be unkempt and clumsy.
  22. I dont have one favorite color; my favorite colors are Black, Blue, Purple and Deep Red.
  23. I can spend a whole day on the beach without getting bored or without having anything much to do.
  24. I am very restless as a person and I just cant sit idle on weekends. Thats why I plan my weekends well in advance.
  25. I like to be organized and I try to inspire the people around me to get more organized in life.

A Guideline for Life

A boy and a girl were playing together. The boy had a collection of marbles. The girl had some sweets with her. The boy told the girl that he will give her all his marbles in exchange for her sweets. The girl agreed. The boy kept the biggest and the most beautiful marble aside and gave the rest to the girl. The girl gave him all her sweets as she had promised. That night, the girl slept peacefully. But the boy couldn't sleep as he kept wondering if the girl had hidden some sweets from him, the way he had hidden his best marble.

Moral of the story: If you don't give your hundred percent in a relationship, you'll always keep doubting whether the other person has given their hundred percent or not. In love, friendship, professional relationships, or in anything that you do. Give your hundred percent and sleep peacefully.

Now, my question to all of you is that do you believe in the moral of this story? Please feel free to give your own reasons or lessons that you have learnt from ur own life.

Movie Magic

Update: Saw Delhi 6 today and the one word that came to my mind was "Disappointing". Yeah i can't believe this movie comes from the same director who had made a cult movie like "Rang De Basanti"! Really sad....to be precise i hated the last 15-20 mins and that kinda spoilt it all!!

This weekend i am not gonna be doing anything that gr8! Saturday i.e. tomorrow will be spent in office. :( So no chance of doing anything tomorrow. However, Sunday will be fun due to.......yep u guessed it right, lunch and movie date with my guy. :) We will be watching "Delhi 6", have high hopes from this movie since its coming from the same person who directed "Rang De Basanti". So it better be good!

By the way, the other movies which will be sharing the silver screen with Delhi 6 this weekend are "Valkyrie" starring Tom Cruise and the Oscar nominated "Milk" starring Sean Penn. So which of the three movies appeals the most to you, and which one of these are you most likely to watch? Let me give you a snap shot of each of the movies so that its easier for you to choose.

DELHI 6

Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Delhi 6 tells the story of Roshan, an NRI played by Abhishek Bachchan who visits India for the first time to drop his ailing grandmother played by Waheeda Rahman. Having already made waves with its impeccable soundtrack by Rahman, Delhi 6 also features Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo role.

VALKYRIE

Tom Crusie starrer Valkyrie is set in Nazi Germany during World War II and depicts a plot by German army officers to assassinate Adolf Hitler. Directed by Brian Singer,Valkyrie is based on true incidents, where Cruise appears as Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg one of the key plotters. The film also stars Tom Wilkinson.

MILK

Based on a true story and set in the 1970's, Milk stars Sean Penn in the lead as California's first openly gay elected official who wins the San Francisco supervisor seat. This gay supervisor was assassinated for having been open about his sexuality.

Now that u know what each movie is about, take ur pick and lemme know which one u wanna watch.

P.S Jus wanted to write abt something random and this is what came to my end. Have a gr8 weekend guys!! :)

Best V'Day Ever!!

I never imagined that i could celebrate Valentine's Day like the usual couples bcoz i and my guy had never lived in the same city. I remember how i used to pull his leg by saying that we will celebrate these special occasions only after marriage. It was almost as if i had taken it for granted. But last year was an eventful year for us, he came to Bombay.....something i had never thought of coz he never liked Bombay and he seemed to be content at Bangalore. Everything changed when he got a gr8 job offer and relocated to Bombay. Things slowly started getting normal.....But there was still one major hurdle in our way and that was my parents. They were still opposed to our relationship...But as they say, Love triumphed at last and things started falling into place when he met my parents on Diwali last year.

I still remember that day.....but this post is not about that day, its about 14th Feb, 2009. The day when i lost count of time, when i got lost in love, when it felt as if i was in a fairy tale come true. :) Yes, all of this happened to me on Saturday!! Let me begin with how did the day start, it started with a call that i got from somebody asking me to confirm my residence address. It was a call from the florist who later on came to deliver a big bouquet of red roses. My guy just knows how to serenade me......he knew that i love flowers and so this was the surprise that he had talked about! Not really, there was more in store for me....The only thing that he had told me was to be ready by 12 noon. So he came over to my place at 12.30 p.m and gave me a gift bag which had a lovely dress and a beautiful greeting card in it.

We dint have much time to stay at my place coz the afternoon was planned, we went for lunch at a nice restaurant close to my place and then we also had a movie to catch up. We went to see "Dev D", i know it wasn't the mushy movie which a couple is expected to see on Valentine's Day but it was an interesting movie to watch. The performances were really good, i liked Abhay Deol in it. And one thing that i would like to add is that it's definitely not a movie which one can watch with family or parents for that matter. ;) Anyways, after the movie we dint hav much to do so we hopped into a lounge kinda pub which had a good ambiance. He opted for some chilled beer where as i stuck to my favorite Strawberry Daiquiri. We spent some time there and then we went on to do some window shopping....It was a tough thing to do considering the fact that wherever we went there was a sale goin on! We did manage to resist the temptation....but not b4 i bought a pair of sandals for myself (that makes it my 13th pair!). I think i'll soon have to buy a new shoe rack to accommodate my ever increasing number of shoes and sandals! :P

After all of this we proceeded to my place coz mom had invited him over for dinner. My mom has got a liking for him, and so she had cooked some of his favorite delicacies. He seemed to be enjoying all the attention that he was getting from my parents and i let him do so. After all i was the one who had always wished for such a day to come and here it was! After dinner i went down to drop him near the gate of our building and the magical day had come to an end for us. We parted from each other but not before he gave me a warm embrace and sweet goodnight kiss. Sigh!!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner.....so i thought of dedicating a post to love. Well, this is what i have to say:

I never knew about happiness,
I didnt think dreams came true;
I couldnt believe in love,
Until I finally met you.

Ok, now that i am done with what i had to say to my love, i want everybody out here to dedicate something to the one they love (and that need not be necessarily bfs/gfs, it could be friends or parents as well). Also i have something funny and interesting for u guys. Given below are a set of hearts, all u need to do is pick any one of them and tell me why did u pick that up? U can also give ur heart a title if u want. So go ahead and pick ur heart. :)

Love,
Ria

Having a Good Time!!

Feeling heady due to the weekend that just passed by. Dont worry I didnt get drunk or anything of that sorts! ;) Its just that I had a really great timeTo begin with I went to a Cruise Party which was organized by my office on Saturday evening. It was an overnight party, starting from a port in Mumbai which went into international waters at midnight and touched back at Mumbai on Sunday morning. The theme of the party was Red and Black/Blue, so everybody was dressed in that kinda attire. I wore a red shirt and a black jeans, I also had a pair of red shoes that matched the theme to the T. So, we started from Mumbai at 8 p.m. and were on the cruise by 8.30 p.m. The evening started warming up with a slew of games that had already been planned before hand, and there was plenty of alcohol and starters to go with it. ;)

After wrapping up with the games we had a quick and light dinner and hit the dance floor. The Dj played some really good music which set the perfect mood for dancing, I must have danced for 2-3 hrs and by then we had crossed the Indian borders.which meant that the Casino was now open! (Casinos are not allowed within Indian borders). So we proceeded to the Casino by 2.30 a.m, as it was my first time I didnt play coz I didnt want to lose money like the people around me were. But some of my friends did manage to win some money, so I was happy for them. :) There were live performances by belly dancers which was quite amazing. I also spent some quiet time at the deck looking at the vastness of the Arabian Sea, the feeling was simply awesome! By the time I hit the bed it was already five in the morning!!

We reached Mumbai by 8.30 a.m on Sunday, we had breakfast in the ship itself and I also got to click some amazing pics of the rising sun (see above) and the early morning view from the deck. I reached home by 9.30 a.m. and all I could think of was sleep! So I immediately went off to sleep. I slept for around 2 hrs and then I had a long warm bath which had a calming effect on me.

Then I went to watch the movie Marley and Me with my guy. We had lunch near the theatre and proceeded to see the movie after that. The movie was so good that I dont have words for it.I might sound biased coz I am a huge dog lover! But the way the director has captured the relationship between Marley (an over-active Labrador) and the Grogan family, played by Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston was simply amazing! And the ending was just so over whelming that I couldnt stop myself from crying. I must have cried like a baby, my bf had a tough time calming me down! :) But he loved the movie as much as I did, coz hes a dog lover too!

After the movie both of us went to my regular LOreal Salon for a hair cut, yep both of us got a hair cut coz we were bored of our current hair do. Anyways, the hair cut turned out to be gr8.although i loved his hair cut more than mine! ;) I am biased towards him u c. Then it was time to say good bye as he left for his home and I left for mine. :( Not that sad coz all in all I had a super-duper weekend. And last but not the least this is my 100th post! So yipppeee.for that as well. I had written a senti post only recently when my blog turned one, thats why I didnt write anything of that sorts for my 100th post. :) Still would like say a very big Thank You to all of for making me feel so good and special. Hope all of u have a gr8 week ahead!

Who wants Weekdays!?

This weekend passed off in a jiffy....and the result was, i was left asking for more! :( I so wanted to have a longer weekend. Anyways, lemme tell you what did i do, Saturday i went to work for a while and i returned home by lunch time. Had a nice lunch and slept for a while and rushed to gym after waking up at 5.30 p.m. My trainer made sure that he made the most of it coz Sunday is an off for me....so he takes his revenge from me on Saturdays! :P ;) After working out till 7.30, he finally had some mercy on me and let me go. Actually i shouldn't be saying this coz its bcoz of this rigorous schedule that i have lost close to 6 kgs. Now that's some achievement for me....and this has given me a lot of impetus to work harder. :) Ok lets move further, in the evening we had some family friends come over for dinner at my place. So this is how Saturday came to an end.

Then came Sunday, the only time that i got was in the morning...so i lazed around till 11.30 or so and then i had to get ready for lunch. We went over to a family friend's place for lunch, and since they stay in the suburbs we had to travel a lot. I got done by 3.30 p.m and rushed to Fun Cinemas (a multiplex), had booked tickets for Luck By Chance in advance. My guy was their with me, and we went for dinner after the movie. The movie was nice, all the actors have played their roles well. The references of the Hindi Film industry is really interesting....and that's why this movie is worth a watch. In fact, i wouldn't mind watching it again! :) I really liked Farhan in the movie, I have suddenly developed a liking for him since Rock On. :P Anyways, i loved the music by Shankar-Ehsaan- Loy, i feel they have done a wonderful job. I have already downloaded a couple of songs from the internet and i seem to be hooked to them. I was back home by 9.30 p.m And this is how my weekend came to an end. :( Just didn't realize how the the weekend passed away. Now i am waiting for the coming weekend. :)
