What are Friends for?

1. Have you ever lost a friend after he/she got married?
Yeah, most of them get lost in their own lives after marriage.

2. Do you make friends easily? 

Yes, coz i like to meet new people from different walks of life.

Nope, not too many.

4. Tell us about your oldest friend. 

I know her since 11 yrs, and even if we may not be in touch on a day to day basis we pick up life from where we had left it.

Met him just yesterday. He's simple & down to earth.

I meet friends mostly on weekends or whenever i find the time.

Hmm...i don't think i have ever traveled anywhere far to meet my friends.

8. What's the biggest or best thing a friend has ever done for you? 

Being there for me when i need him/her the most.

Back stabbed me when i least expected it.

India. And that would be coz of the values and beliefs that have been instilled in me since childhood, i doubt if i would get them had i been born in some other country.

My grandmom (dad's mom) is 82 and the only gradnparent that i have alive right now.

Well, i am the youngest in my family. What more do i say? :)

Apart from having a pesky (read irritating) trainer nothing else.

6. If you could go back and change one friendship in your past, who would it have been, and why?

I wouldn't  have wanted to meet a certain woman during my 1st job, coz she changed my whole perspective on friendship.

7. If you could make a wish and it be guaranteed to come true (and not to get more wishes), what would it be, and why?

There are too many wishes which i'd want to come true...but right now, the most guaranteed one seems to be me joining my hubby in the UK.

Was working n living with my parents.

It's Over-rated!!

1. Name a restaurant that is over-rated?

I can name a lot of them, mostly the ones that are frequented by celebrities et al are overrated, unnecessarily hyped and super expensive.

2. What food is over-rated?

Caviar, wonder what's so great about it!

3. Name an experience that you have had that is/was over-rated?
My experience with reality shows.

4. Which celebrity is over-rated?
Well most of the celebrities are, can't just name one!

In the recent times, it has to be Robot.

Reason to Believe

1. Has anyone asked you to believe in something that called for a huge leap of faith on your part?

A. Yes my guy had asked me to believe in him some 9 and a half yrs ago, which was a huge leap of faith for me coz i dint know if we would last in a long distance realtionship or not. But here we are waiting to get married on the 9th of Feb. *smiles*

 

2. When is the last time you moved? Why did you move?

A. The last time i moved was from Bhubaneswar to Mumbai in 2000. It was because my dad got transferred.

 
3. Malls or Internet? Are you doing more online shopping this year? The polls say we are, but I'm curious about what the real people are doing.

A. I have started shopping on the internet more than i used to before but given a choice i would still prefer to shop on my own in a mall, coz i don't like the waiting period & the incessant delays when we shop online.

 

4. Do you remember the first meme you participated in and if so, what was it?

I don't quite remember, but i know it was something to do with me and it was in way back in the year 2008. :)

 

5. If you could invent something, what would it be?

I would like to invent/create an invisible cloak aka Harry Potter coz it would be very useful for me in daily life. :P

 

6. Is your life turning out the way you thought it would when you were a kid? If not, is it better or worse?

A. My life has definitely not turned out as i had expected it to be, it's way different from what i had thought it to be. But i am certainly not complaining and i feel i have done pretty well for myself. :) No regrets whatsoever.

A. I will miss Mumbai, the people i met here and my job which i will be quitting soon.

My uncle, he was admitted for a bypass surgery 2 months back.

1. "I don't really see the point in washing your hair. If you don't care if your hair's clean or not then why would you wash it?" How often do you wash your hair?

Every alternate day. I wonder how people stay for so long without washing their hair.

Yes absolutely! It takes efforts to look good on a special event & i feel its totally worth it!

Nope i am a terrible driver...no wonder dad doesn't risk his car with me! :D

I can't seem to zero in on one fav actor, so my fav actors are Leonardo Di Caprio, Will Smith, Jim Carrey, Goerge Clooney & Joseph Gordon Levitt.

Oh yeah i had this jeans from Pepe which was a tad too long in length so i chopped it off by an inch or so from below & i have been wearing it that way ever since then. Haven't really bothered to get it stitched.

Yes i feel i am really attractive! ;) *mirror shattering looks u know*

No never! I have never learnt to give up in life, unless of course i realised that it's not meant to be.

I think that would be a no, simply bcoz i am attracted to people who are more outgoing & confident about who they are.

Oh yes absolutely! There's no sense in continuing/dragging a relationship that's not working.

The last time i went out with friends without any plan in place made feel this way! Sometimes its great to do things spontaneously. Just like i am a spontaneous shopper! :P

Not really, I have always done what i have wanted to & my life has been pretty good so far. And i know that it's only going to get better with time!

Nope! I can never pretend to be something that i am not. I think that counts as one of my drawbacks too as there are so many fake ppl around, sometimes its prudent to be what you are not!

Yes always! I appreciate & value time. So, i am always on or before time for an event/appointment. A trait definitely not appreciated by many though!

Have been trying to post since Saturday but something or the other kept coming in my way....and yesterday was so hectic that i cudnt even think of writing coz i was neck deep in work. But guess what? I left early from work citing some reason and went off to shop. Trust me it was fun! :) I got a nice dark tan bag, a LV wallet, a sophisticated multi-hued clutch and 2 sandals. And this is how my Monday ended.

A Not So Random Post

Ok time for a tag now, its been a while since i took up a tag which asked me to talk about myself! :) I know, i know, most of u know me already but this one's for Harshita who really wants to know what will i write about myself. :D So ready to spill some more beans, here i go:

1. I am not a very brand conscious person. I can pick up anything from any where as far as i don't have to compromise on quality. I mean seriously I don't get the deal of spending a bomb on something like a watch or say a perfume!? Why would i waste a lakh of rupees on just a watch?? Imagine the amount of shopping that i can do with that kinda money!
   

2. I prefer guys as friends more than girls, not bcoz of the obvious attraction factor! More so bcoz i feel that they are less bitchy and messy. No offense meant to all my lovely gfs who i truly cherish. But i really can't bitch all day about clothes, jewellery, make-up & guys! I need something more than that to be friends with someone.
   

3. Now, since i am friendly & approachable a lot many times guys have ended up misunderstanding me! Why is it so difficult for a man & a woman to be just friends!? The moment i feel i have a gr8 friendship with this guy, he spoils it all by saying that he's got feelings for me! And this despite me having told them that I'm happily committed!! Does that mean that i shouldn't make friends with guys coz I'm committed!? Now that's weird!
   

4. I am very sensitive!! A little too much than required....i get deeply affected when i see people around me suffering due to a fatal disease or any calamity. A few years down the line i plan to set up my own NGO or at least work for one, coz that's what i feel is my true calling & that will satisfy my urge to reach out to people.
   

5. I hate to see people being discriminated for their caste, sexual preference or color for that matter! I mean why can't people just let them be, i believe in & follow the saying "Live and Let Live". How i wish more people practiced this in their lives! Trust me guys this is more than just a saying.
   

6. I get bored very easily, like right now i am bored of this job and the life that i am leading. Nothing to excite me, i want to go to a new place and have a brand new life. I like to change my bags, shoes & accessories every single day! And no i don't get tired of doing that. :) In fact, i keep telling people that i like change in every aspect of my life except relationships.

7. I love discovering new places and meeting people from different walks of life, i am a complete extrovert no wonder i love traveling. I have always secretly wanted to become a travel show host (its not a secret anymore). Imagine traveling to different parts of the world at somebody's expense! What fun!! :P

8. I am very possessive about my things, i can't share them with people. Not bcoz i am selfish, but more so bcoz i know that they can't take care of it the way i would. Yes, i am very finicky & i am a thorough perfectionist. If something's to be done in a certain way then it has to be done that way! No other way will do.

9. I have never dreamt of a prince charming, i have never tried my mom's make up as a child nor have i ever thought about how my marriage will be like. As a matter of fact i have never read a Mills & Boons novel. Yes, this despite the fact that i have been in love from times immemorial. Still, i would like to say that i am feminine and romantic in my own way!

10. I feel i am my best advisor in life, and i think nobody can understand your problems better than you yourself! I find it rather strange when i read columns where people seek answers to their dilemmas....I dunno how can a third person understand what you have been through & advise you on what to do further!? People who know me, know that i am very strong mentally & emotionally. I often advise people in times of trouble, but i only do so when i am asked to! I don't give free advice.

Honesty is the Best Policy

Not that i believe in the title of my post. Honesty may not always be the best policy, i can clearly remember times when honesty has lead to disaster!! This post is definitely not about the misadventures i have had for being honest, its about being rewarded for a change. Saim has awarded me with the "Honest Scrap Award". And this award comes with a tag along......I have to list down 10 truths about myself before accepting this award. (talk about the*conditions apply* award) :P :) So here i go:

1. Although i come across as a complete extrovert, i actually enjoy spending time with myself. In fact there are days when i just don't feel like going out. I would rather be on my own than meeting up with friends or my bf for that matter.

2. It might sound strange but I used to hate everything about myself till class 9th or so....Dunno what happened after that though coz if u ask me now, i really love myself and still can't figure out as to why i used to hate myself so much!

3. I have never planned anything in my life, everything that i have done so far, be it doing my graduation or be it my MBA has happened in due course of time. There was a time when i never had any long term plans for the future (although i do have a clear picture now).

4. Although i may come across as a very happy go lucky kinda person who doesn't take tension in life, it might come as a surprise to many that i actually get tensed very easily! Its just that i am good at camouflaging it! :P

5. I am a weird mixture of a person who likes to plan things and is highly organized but at the same time i like doing things spontaneously as well!!

6. Although i am not an atheist, but i am also not really fond of going to temples. I can't even remember when was it last that i went to a temple! I really need a strong reason to visit a temple (read my parents dragging me along with them).

7. I just can't understand how and why do people commit mistakes in English! Pardon me for being apathetic coz i feel English is one of the easiest languages that i have known till date. In fact i can't remember having ever studied for an English exam, and yet i would score marks like 89/100. :) No wonder English was always my favorite subject!!

8. I love writing and i have been writing from the time when i was in class 9th. I used to write a diary till last yr. And i stopped only coz i started my own blog. :)

9. I lack one quality which most of the people around me have in abundance, and that's jealousy. Its unusually true that i don't feel jealous of anybody or anything! I know its hard to believe but that's how i am.

10. Another strange quality i possess is that of being ambitious as well as content. Although i want to strive for the better, but at the same time there's no such unrest in my life. I don't have too many cribs as such. :)

Well, i am done. This tag did force me to think a lot. Wasn't that tough though, coz i anyways think a lot! :P Enjoy the rest of the week coz its Wednesday already.
