The Desperate Housewife

Sorry for not being around for this last one week. There are no excuses except for the fact that i have got hooked on to "Desperate Housewives". Its pretty weird that i never really watched this TV Series until i came to London. I happened to watch a couple of episodes on Channel 4 and i loved it. I then did my own little research on the series and realised that it has 7 seasons in all.

So this is how my conquest to know what must have happened in the earlier seasons began. I am done with the first 2 seasons, and half way thru the 3rd one. The characters are really interesting and each episode has something new to offer, so it never really gets boring. My favorite character is that of "Mike Delfino" which has been played by James Denton. The pic below says it all.

Oh man, isn't he simply hot! He plays the role of a plumber, if i ever met such a plumber i dunno what would i do to him. ;) Ok, now i just hope that my hubby doesn't get to read this. But what the heck, even he knows that i have the hots for this guy. I have never been this hooked to a TV Series ever since Friends. I am so engrossed that i barely get time to cook or talk to my husband.

Anyways, time to watch another episode. Hope u guys are doing well & all of you have a gr8 weekend!

Innocence Personified

Isn't it just adorable, I want a pet like right now! Dogs are the most faithful pet that one can have, i plan to have one sometime in the near future. My question to all of you is: Which breed of dog do you like and why? (you can try to answer this even if you have never had a dog as a pet)

It's Over-rated!!

1. Name a restaurant that is over-rated?
I can name a lot of them, mostly the ones that are frequented by celebrities et al are overrated, unnecessarily hyped and super expensive.

2. What food is over-rated?
Caviar, wonder what's so great about it!

3. Name an experience that you have had that is/was over-rated?
My experience with reality shows.

4. Which celebrity is over-rated?
Well most of the celebrities are, can't just name one!

5. Which movie is/was over-rated?
In the recent times, it has to be Robot.

6. What famous person is over-rated?
The president of USA, wonder why can't he be treated like a human and not god?

7. Would you rather be over-rated or under-rated?
None of the above. I would like to be ME.

8. What or who is the most over-rated thing in the world?
Politics and Sex.

9. Is there something that your S.O. (spouse etc) likes a lot that you think is over-rated?
At the moment his obsession with Prison Break! (i hope he doesn't read this) :P

To do Or not To do

I am thinking of getting a tattoo before getting married. But there are 2 things that i am concerned about:

1. I am not sure if i can live with it the whole of my life.
2. I don't know which area in the body would be the best place to get one.

I am intrigued to get a Celtic tattoo on the nape of my neck. What say people? Any suggestions?

What a Wonderful World

I have been in love with this song ever since i heard it in the film 'Guzaarish'. I really fail to understand how could a film like this flop!? I hadn't expected anything from this movie, given the last couple of flops given by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. But when i stepped out from the theatre i was in a spell. Anyways, coming back to the point, here's the song that i am talking about:

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Time Up!

A 54 year old woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. She had a near death experience in the operation theatre.

On seeing God she asked "Is my time up?"

God said, "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days to live."

On recovering, the woman decided to stay back in the hospital and got a face-lift, liposuction and a tummy tuck done. She even had someone come in to change her hair color and brighten her teeth.

Since she had so much time to live, she figured out that she might as well make the most of it.

After her last surgery, she was released from the hospital. While crossing the street on her way home, she was killed by an ambulance.

On arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had another 43 years. Then why didn't you pull me out of the path of the ambulance?"

God replied: "I didn't recognize you!"

Moral: Don't tweak with what god has already given you. Be happy the way you are.

Viva Monday

?

?Once a couple were invited to a swanky masked Halloween party. The wife got a terrible head ache and told her husband to go to the party alone. Being a devoted husband, he protested, but she argued and said that she was going to take some aspirin and go to bed and there was no need for him to spoil the fun by not going. So he took his costume and away he went.

After sleeping soundly for about an hour or so, the wife woke up without any pain and as it was still early, decided go to the party. As her husband didn't know what her costume was, she thought she would have some fun by watching her husband, see how he acted when she was not around.

She joined the party and soon spotted her husband in his costume, cavorting around on the dance floor, dancing with every nice chick, cupping a little here and a little kiss there. His wife went up to him and being a rather seductive babe herself, he left his new partner high and dry and devoted his time to her. She let him go as far as he wished, naturally, since he was her husband. After a couple of drinks he whispered a little proposition in her ear and she agreed, so off they went to one of the cars and made out passionately in the back seat.

Just before unmasking at midnight, she slipped away and went back home put the costume away and got into the bed, wondering what kind of explanation he would give for his outrageous behavior. She was sitting and reading when he came in, she asked him "how was the party?"

He said, "Oh, the same old thing. You know I can never have a good time when you're not there."

Then she asked, "Did you dance much?"

He replied, "I tell you, I never danced one dance. When I got there, I met Pete, Bill, Brown and some other guys, we went into the spare room and played poker all evening"

"You must have looked really silly wearing that costume playing poker all night!" she said with unabashed sarcasm.

To which the husband replied, "Actually, I gave my costume to my Boss, apparently he had the time of his life!"

So what do you infer/conclude from this incident? Will be interesting to know your take on this.

The Forbidden Fruit

I know everybody must be busy with festivities and celebrations at their place. But amidst all this there's a strange thing that's been going on, in my mind. It's actually a series of questions which have popped up, out of no where:

Why is it that we feel like experiencing or doing what is supposed to be forbidden?

Is it true that the forbidden fruit always tastes the sweetest? If yes then does it last?

What is the most forbidden thing that you have been tempted to do till date?

Please don't give me vague/confusing answers. Hope to get some closure on these thoughts asap. Enjoy the extended weekend & stay safe!! ;)

The Marina Bay Sands Resort

If you fancy a dip in this pool, you'll need a head for heights - it's 55 storeys up. But swimming to the edge won't be quite as risky as it looks.

While the water in the infinity pool seems to end in a sheer drop, it actually spills into a catchment area where it is pumped back into the main pool. At three times the length of an Olympic pool and 650ft up, it is the largest outdoor pool in the world at that height.

It features in the impressive, boat-shaped 'Sky Park' perched atop the three towers that make up the world's most expensive hotel, the 4 billion Marina Bay Sands Resort in Singapore.

The hotel, which has 2,560 rooms costing from 350 a night, was officially opened on 24th June, 2010 with a concert by Diana Ross.

The Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, estimated to have cost 2 bn when it opened in 2004, was previously the world's most expensive hotel.

But with its indoor canal, opulent art, casino, outdoor plaza, convention centre, theatre, crystal pavilion and museum shaped like a lotus flower, the Marina Bay Sands has taken its crown.

The Monday Morning Update

Got this really creative ad on mail and since it is so pertinent couldn't stop myself from putting it up here:

(Please click on the pic to enlarge)

It's a lazy Monday morning and i can't stop yawning!! Didn't do anything much during the weekend, just stayed indoors and enjoyed the monsoons. Saved money too by not seeing "Raavan" on the big screen. I so knew that this movie was going to bomb at the box office. I can actually think of taking up an alternate profession of being a film critic. :P I am that good at it!

The only thing worth a watch in the movie is the cinematography, sorry i can't spend 250/- on just the cinematography, I had rather wait for its world TV premiere (which will happen sometime soon just like the movie Kites which will shown on Colors channel on 27th June). :D So what did you do this weekend?

The Way I Feel....

Monsoons have finally arrived in Mumbai much to the respite of many people!! However, i somehow have always had mixed emotions for the rains. Yes, its amazing to get wet in the rains, the smell that emanates from the earth after the first showers is divine. It's really romantic, especially if u have the special one with you to enjoy the rains....walking by the sea while the waves crash on the shore is oh so serene & beautiful. Cuddling up in a blanket, sipping on hot coffee and reading a book all by yourself is pure bliss!

On the other hand, the other emotion that i associate the rains with is sadness & gloom, the sinking feeling within u that comes up every once in a while....the pangs of separation that one feels if your beloved is not around, the loneliness which only seems to deepen coz the rains make u feel so blue. Rains can be very depressing at times.

And then, if u happen to be in Mumbai, another emotion that one can sense is irritation. Yes, the water clogged roads which increase the traffic congestion manifold, the puddles of dirty water which make it impossible for u to walk on the streets without soiling ur clothes, and not to forget the spate of epidemics that strike there after add to the woes of being in a mega city like Mumbai.

So here was what i feel for the monsoons in a nutshell. I would love it if the first emotion that i spoke of could linger for a bit longer...but i suppose that's possible only if i am on a vacation at a small and idyllic location with clouds floating over my head. ;)

It's mid-week already and the countdown to the weekend has begun! Please feel free to share your views on the monsoon and have a gr8 week ahead!! *kisses coming your way*

P.S. I Love You

"Some love lasts a lifetime. True love lasts forever!"

I am not asking what love is....i know most of us would either have some definition for love or would rather say that love is indefinable. But what i want to ask is,

"Is it possible to love two people at the same time? And if yes then how do you justify it?"

Mind you people no twisting of words here, this pertains to love that you feel for a person of the opposite sex. So please give clear cut answers and not confusing ones. And if you are genuinely confused then you can admit that too. ;) Good luck with the answers and i shall give my answer once i get your answers. All of you have a gr8 weekend!!

Turn Back Time....

I Want To Go Back To The Time

When GETTING HIGH Meant On a SWING, Not PROMOTIONS.

When DRINKING meant RASNA ORANGE, Not BEERS Or WHISKEY.

When DAD Was The Only HERO, Not DEPP Or TOM.

When LOVE Was MOMS HUG, Not The GIRL / BOY-FRIENDS.

When DADS SHOULDER Was The HIGHEST PLACE On The Earth, Not Your DESIGNATION.

When Your WORST ENEMIES Were Your SIBLINGS, Not Your MANAGER.

When The Only Thing That Could HURT were BLEEDING KNEES, Not The TEARS Falling Down Your Cheeks.

When The Only Things BROKEN were TOYS, Not The DYING HEARTS.

And When GOOD-BYES meant TILL TOMORROW, Not For YEARS & YEARS.

How Corrupt Are We?

Found this article on yahoo and felt like sharing it. Doesn't make me feel any good or proud for that matter, its sad to see where we stand. The reason as to why the earthquake in Haiti was so devastating has also been given:

Do let me know your views on what you just read. Also, the 33% reservation for women bill has finally been passed by the Rajya Sabha. What are your views on it?
