The Best IPL Moments!!

The IPL fever gripped everyone alike this season. Even Dalai Lama couldn't escape it. As the fiery tournament decided to move to Dharamshala to cool down for two of its league matches, Dalai Lama catered to his cricket loving instincts by coming for the match.

It was the turn of the Mallya scion to take the reigns of the Royal Challengers Bangalore from his father this season. Siddharth Mallya, the Prince of Good Times, gave the paparazzi lots to talk about as he was extensively linked to Bollywood diva, Deepika Padukone.

Preity Zinta hoped against hope but her team finished at the bottom of the IPL table. As the bollywood beauties descended on to the cricket field, the histrionics were quite conspicuous. Shilpa Shetty of Rajasthan Royals consoling Preity after her side defeated Kings XI Punjab or is she?

The spirits really soared high indeed! Seen in ensembles designed specifically for her team, Neeta Ambani was the active one this season. Taking a leaf from Preity Zinta's diary, Neeta Ambani was seen regaling with her team on all occasions. Seen here with ace bowler Harbhajan Singh.

One of the most captivating on-field moments of the IPL 3 was the Super Over between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings. An otherwise off-colour Yuvraj Singh, shone with the bat, both during the innings as well as the Super Over to hand his side, victory.

It was family time for King Khan too. Star kids became a regular picture on the cricket ground. Shahrukh Khan seen here with his son Aryan and daughter Suhana.

Sachin reiterated his iconic status yet again by comprehensively leading the Mumbai Indians to the finals of the IPL. He also emerged as the most searched IPL player this season closely followed by Sourav Ganguly. Dada was his KKR's Knight in shining armour too! The two stars share a lighter moment.

Just when we thought the tournament was advancing to its end, there were more fireworks in store. The Shashi Tharoor - Lalit Modi controversy sparked by a supposedly innocuous tweet took a leap so huge that it landed straight into Parliament! Seen here, the two in ostensibly happier times.

The Shoebox

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had shared everything, they had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet, that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about.

For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said that she would not recover. Trying to sort out their affairs, the old man got the shoe box down took it to his wife's bedside. She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000.

He asked her about the contents.

'When we were to be married,' she said, ' my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that If I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll.' The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box.

She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst out with happiness.

'Honey,' he said, 'that explains the doll, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?'

'Oh,' she said, 'that's the money I made from selling the dolls.'

Something Called Love

Caution: Long post ahead!! So please don't read it if you don't have the time.

Here comes yet another Monday morning....and everybody around me knows how much i loathe Mondays!! No, no i am not here to write another hate post on Mondays. I am here to write about something that's ever so close to my heart, rather its to do with my heart. Don't worry my heart's totally fine. Its to do with the emotion which relates to heart, its about love!!

Yes, this is the first time that i want to bare my heart out about what i feel about being in love....Right from class IV when i had my first crush, i felt the first flush of love even though it was a mere infatuation then! :) Since then I had my share of crushes and it felt good each time i felt butterflies in my stomach. It made me smile, it made me happy & eventually most of my crushes became good friends of mine!

But the first time i felt love for real was way back in school when i was 14. I remember joining DAV Public School in Bhubaneswar, i remember being nervous not bcoz i was scared but more so coz this was yet another new school for me and i had to make new friends all over again!! (all thanks to dad's transferable job) And somewhere there was this uneasiness in my heart....I don't know if i had sensed it already.

There was this guy who was extremely shy of girls, to the extent that he wouldn't even cross paths with them. :) I liked him not only bcoz he was cute but also bcoz he had the cutest smile i had ever seen! He was brilliant in Biology, a subject i couldn't quite understand. He had an excellent memory and i still remember the day when he had recited "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" a poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. It was a 3 pager and he had recited the whole poem in one go. I mean that was seriously impressive!!

He used to stay in the same colony as mine coz his dad worked in the same organization as my dad. I wished if i could talk to him....but he wouldn't coz he was so so shy! And i wouldn't too coz i was never the kinda girl who would make the first move. But there was this inevitable attraction that we felt towards each other and this lead us to each other. We started talking, and before i knew, he had proposed and i obviously said a "Yes"! :)

This was not to last for too long....soon my dad got transferred and i had to move out with my family. Like any other couple we parted saying that we will keep in touch and that we will make it last. But no sooner had i left, i could see the cracks and like any other teenage romance our's came to an end!! It was painful to say the least, and i can't say how much i must have cried then. But i had to be strong and i vowed never to fall in love again!! I know i was so naive and vain then.

One fine day i got a call from a friend who i never thought would call me, coz we were never really best friends! She called me up at 6 in the morning and as soon as my mom handed over the phone to me, i realised that it was not her, it was him! It was he who had made her call me up. And i could sense that something was not quite right about the way things were going.

And within the next few days he had proposed, i knew that this time if i said a yes there would be no turning back. And i said this to him, i know it sounds silly now, but i had told him that if this time anything goes wrong then i will be done for good. Ever since then i have never got a chance to get over him....coz like they say, the rest is history and there's been no turning back!

He's never given me a chance to complain....Even today, despite being continents apart, he still professes his love for me the way he used to years ago. There's not a single call which ends without he saying the 3 magical words "I Love You". And believe me it still sounds as magical as it used to 8 and a half years ago!!

We will be completing 9 yrs in June....I know i always keep saying this, but today i want to say it here, "I just can't get enough of you and i am so glad that i said a yes every time you came back to me, I Love You Baby and you are and will always be the best thing that ever happened to me!!"

Think Tank

Each day is like a new canvas to paint on.

Make sure your picture is full of life and happiness,

and at the end of the day you don't look at it

and wish you had painted something different.

Wisdom without Grey hair

"Nothing is permanent in this world.....not even your troubles."

They simply know how to appreciate the things that they have."

The Best of Nat Geo

Silhouetted by the sun, the 'Hand of Fatima' rock formations
near Hombori village stretch towards the sky in Mali.
The tallest tower rises 2,000 feet (610 meters) from the

desert floor. Lore has it that the formation's name stems
from the five towers resemblance to a hand from the sky.

Chinstrap penguins (Pygoscelis antarctica) ride out
high surf on blue icebergs near Candlemas Island
in the South Sandwich Islands.

For trees that grow on mountain tops near Cape Town,
South Africa, wind can be a magnificent sculptor.
Trees that can handle the wind's effect best will

alter their shape to deal with the load of the wind.

Erosion's force becomes clear in these limestone cliffs in
Port Campbell National Park, Australia. About 5 million
years ago the area was a limestone plateau, but as sea levels
rose the effects of surf and rain began to carve out these
magnificent cliffs, along with stacks and arches.

Travertine chimneys near Lake Abbe, Djibouti, were created by
hot springs depositing calcium carbonate, the same process that creates
stalactites and stalagmites. Some of the formations reach 165 feet
(50 meters) near the lake located on the Ethiopia-Djibouti border.

A thick blanket of snow covers West Thumb Geyser Basin
in Yellowstone National Park. There are more geysers

in this park than anywhere else in the world.

Towers of salt and a riverbed colored by crystallized salt
create an other worldly landscape in Ethiopias Danakil Desert.
Sitting more than 300 feet (90 meters) below sea level,
with temperatures reaching 120 degrees Fahrenheit
(49 degrees Celsius), local inhabitants prize the
Danakil for one thing: its salt deposits.

Towering in close symmetry, these basalt columns near
Fingals Cave form the base of the Scottish island of Staffa.
The columns formed when cooling lava flows met bedrock and the
regions cold weather. The island contains three main caves.
