Rock Group Eve’s Burden Releases New CD
Eve’s Burden is a relatively new group from California. Their 1st cd The Black Letter is an remarkable rock driven 17 song disc. This album is fueled by two factors: to start with, an amazingly potent vocal effectiveness highlighted by the astounding vocal assortment of Sharon Jordan with a vocal high quality like a favorable mixture of Ann Wilson, Kelly Clarkson, Janis Joplin and Melissa Etheridge, and secondly, the awesome guitar licks during the album created by producer/guitarist Jerry Leal.
There is some thing delightfully ’80s about the total sound, with keyboard, bass, and drums rounding out the backing instrumentation and developing a solid and full rock sound. At 1st Eve’s Burden arrives off like a motor vehicle for the band’s vocalist, Sharon Jordan. Jordan confident doesn’t sing like a white girl, nonetheless, and that’s a amazing point. Rather, this diva – and indeed, she’s earned that queenly title – belts it out like a gospel choir soloist on all of these primarily-funky tunes. On deeper listening however the distinctive uplifting really feel of their songs starts to shine through. The songs are very lyrical, melodic, and catchy, with introspective and sociological lyrics. I caught up with the group’s producer, Jerry Leal and asked him to comment about the philosophy of their songs, here is what he had to say…
“Nowdays we are bombarded with bad messages in music, themes of hatred, revenge, infidelity, failure, sadness, and the like if it was a burger i wouldn’t feed it to my canine… in producing this document we determined to weave good themes into the songs, themes these as forgiveness, really like, overcoming, letting go, redemption… fundamentally just the opposite. There have been many studies done concerning the results of songs on plants and animals where “pleased/joyous” new music is demonstrated to have a wellness advertising effect and the reverse is true of harsh or negative sounding music”.
The Black Letter is well-created and all set for substantial radio play. My favourite cuts are the opener, an acoustic rock track referred to as, “Love Keeps Me Hanging On”. “Candy Girl” is stuffed with catchy lyrics, wonderful guitar work, and hand claps to boot. “The Fame Game” is a song about the life of a breakthrough musician that attributes memorable lyrics, a catchy chorus, a harmonica, and much more wonderful guitar work. “Euphoria” a ’70s rock inspired guitar riff and a stellar vocal The Black Letter is a strong debut album from an up-and-coming group that you’ll be positive to listen to a lot more about in the in close proximity to future.
